Bud earned his Bachelors of Science in Accounting (BS) from Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky. He has served on twenty or more boards during his healthcare career. Bud is also a past member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

Bud is a Principal with Spectrum Health Partners which is based in Franklin, Tennessee. He has over thirty years (30+) of diverse leadership experience in healthcare administration, operations and finance. Bud has extensive leadership experience with not-for-profit as well as for-profit hospitals and health systems, operating as the CEO, COO and CFO, with a proven track record of successful outcomes.

For the past thirteen (13) years, Bud has directed hospitals and health systems as the President and CEO with an array of critical needs in each facility. As a skilled communicator and analytical master, Bud has excelled at leading organizations to becoming innovative and strategic to achieve long-term success. HOSPITAL AND SYSTEM OPERATIONS

RESTRUCTURING, TURNAROUND, AND BANKRUPTCY MANAGEMENT

  • Orchestrated purchase of Med/Surg Joint Commissioned Accredited non-for-profit hospital in full blown bankruptcy. Saved seventy-five (75) local jobs. Restructured operationally to integrate the operation into the parent hospital and overall operation of the company.
  • Physician Contracts analyzed to bring all in full Stark compliance.
  • Negotiated reduced bond rates with local bank to improve operationally challenged facility.
  • Accessed Capital needs for future years being fiscally responsible.

 

CFO & OPERATIONS IMPROVEMENT

  • Successfully implemented Cerner into large Med/Surg Medical Center to include full scope physician transcription/dictation
  • Increased financially failing Med/Surg facility EBDITA to most successful operation in 89 year history
  • Successfully implemented start-up and operation of Urgent Care Center in rural area
  • Implemented tele-health services for neurology in an ED as well as psych services unit
  • Orchestrated request for proposal (RFP) for Electronic Medical Record for Med / Surg facility
  • Led the purchase of several rural health clinics
  • Totally revamped human resource, employee policies to meet the needs of current day operations
  • Revamped staffing ratios to meet the demands of local patient needs
