Interim Controller (ICON)

The Interim Controller (ICON) should be capable of assuming responsibility for all aspects of the accounting operations, financial reporting and tax compliance. This position works with Senior Management and Department Heads to provide development, guidance, direction and analysis of budgets and forecasts, to provide timely and relevant information to reinforce the strategy as outlined in the budget. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the ICON position is generally viewed as the #2 finance position within the organization.


  • Develop appropriate management and financial reports to better analyze the business and improve decision-making tools as well as refine systems of internal control
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reports including month-end operations analysis for Senior Management reporting comparisons
  • Supervise personnel responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, business analysis, payroll, fixed assets, month-end closings and financial reporting
  • Create and routinely update cash flow statements as well as managing debt service
  • Responsible for the independent audit process, ensuring efficient, timely results
  • Guide financial and capital decisions as well as the internal financial control process
  • Maintain relations with Banks any other financial vendors to facilitate effective operations
  • Supervise and provide oversight to tax preparations as needed to appropriately comply with organizational status, specific to payroll, sales, income, property, etc.
  • Manage financial considerations of any new IT system implementations

Basic Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and at least 5-7 years of healthcare specific experience.
  • CPA certification highly desired
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft products, especially Excel and Windows-based accounting software packages
  • Ability to critically analyze information and apply business acumen to make decisions
  • Ability to partner with other departments and build necessary relationships to be highly effective
  • Demonstrated problem solving, decision making and accounting research skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to thrive in less-structured environments
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
